    "Transcoding error"

    Lowell R Erwin Level 1

I edited an AVI movie file in Premiere Elements 11 and tried to burn a std DVD.  The result was a "Transcoding error".  I am running Win8 on a 64 bit Del XPS8500 desktop. Previously I've burned several DVDs on this computer with PremElem 11 but only recently received this error message.  Many retries and rebooting didn't solve the problem.  How can I resolve this?  Thank you, RayE

          Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like the issue might be Project-specific, as you have been successful in previous Projects on the same computer.

Looking in that direction, can you tell us all about this problem Project, i.e. the Project Setting, the Source Footage (more info here will be appreciated), and then the DVD-Video authoring layout, such as Chapter Markers, and Stop Markers. For instance, a Stop Marker at the end of a Timeline can crash the authoring of a DVD-Video, and is not needed. If you have one there, remove it.

          Good luck,
