    180Degree Card Flip

    sobei88

Im looking to recreate something similar to what is in this video

The very first 180 flip that happens, except along the vertical than horizontal.

Can anybody suggest the best approach to achieve this in After Effects?

      Can anybody suggest/help?

      Cheers in advance

Make the layer 3D and animate its Rotation or Orientation properties.

Simple 3D layer animate the X rotation. You can either cut the layer when the rotation is at 90º or create two layers, one for the front and one for the back, offset the back layer 1 pixel in Z, parent the back layer to the front, and then animate the rotation of the front layer.

You could also set up an expression to hide the layer that's facing away from the camera but that is probably more than you want to get into right now. This is the most basic kind of animation you could do so Make sure you've got through he Getting Started materials referenced on the home page of this forum.
