    Adobe reader X vs. XI

      in adobe reader X,

My customers cannot save my forms that they fill out without first creating a signature and then signing the document.

after this, they are not able to make changes to the forms.

      In adobe reader XI

They can save a form and make changes to it at will...

How can i get my forms to act the same on Reaer X as they would on XI (I.E without having to create a signature and sign the form)?

Reader 11 is able to save a filled-in form that has not been Reader-enabled. It is a new feature. Prior versions required the document to be Reader-enabled by Acrobat (or LiveCycle Reader Extensions) in order to save. Regarding a signature, I believe what yo're referring to is the recently added EchoSign functionality that's available in Reader 10 and 11. If you Reader-enable the document, this type of signing won't be available and the user will be able to save the form as they can in Reader 11.

To Reader-enable a document with Acrobat:

Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable additional features

Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools
