3D type will not snap to vanishing point?

Hi all I watched this video on how to snap 3D text to a defined vanishing point. Seems pretty straight forward but it does not seem to be snapping to the plane I defined?

Bad edit in the video. He already has the extrusion appearing to sit on the ground of the hallway then does "Snap to Ground" and says that you now see it snap to the ground, despite it obviously not moving because it's already on the ground.

Someone has edited out a preceding step of setting the 3D camera's view to "Vanishing Point Grid" in Properties panel, which will align the 3D ground with the VPG and make the 3D layer match the perspective of the hallway.

            You again...LOL.

Ok. that's what I was looking for so I did find that in the Properties panel. I knew I was missing something.
