Ken Binney Feb 27, 2013 1:07 PM (in response to benwiggy)I'd suggest you copy and paste in code view.

2. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Feb 28, 2013 12:30 AM (in response to Ken Binney)Well, I could just use a Text Editor!
I guess I'm asking whether anyone else has observed this problem, and if they know a method of snapping DW out of it. I'll try trashing prefs and caches.

3. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
Sudarshan Thiagarajan Feb 28, 2013 1:18 AM (in response to benwiggy)I'm unable to replicate this issue. Have you checked for updates for DW? Also yes, clearing your cache may help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811

4. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Feb 28, 2013 5:17 AM (in response to Sudarshan Thiagarajan)Of all the many updates I get from Adobe, I don't think there have been any for Dreamweaver. It's still 12.0.
Thanks for the cache info. I probably would have been less surgical and deleted everything in the User Library. That does seem to have improved matters.

5. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
Sudarshan Thiagarajan Feb 28, 2013 6:09 AM (in response to benwiggy)Glad to know that. Yes, the major build is 12.0. But there is a sub-version 12.0.4 (if you're a creative cloud member).
Windows or Mac: Help > Updates to check for any available updates
Btw, are you on the Creative Cloud or are you using a 'perpetual' (standard) version?

6. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Feb 28, 2013 6:20 AM (in response to Sudarshan Thiagarajan)I have an account for some Adobe Cloud services -- though at a strictly non-paid level. It's mostly just storage space, I think.
The Creative Suite updates are all handled by an Adobe Update Manager, and I'm automatically informed of anything that I can get.
I would rather stick pins in my eyes than subscribe to software, thanks!

7. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
Sudarshan Thiagarajan Feb 28, 2013 7:07 AM (in response to benwiggy)Well, like I said try opening Adobe Update Manager or even from DW > Help > Update to check and download all available updates. That will help.

8. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Feb 28, 2013 9:50 AM (in response to Sudarshan Thiagarajan)Already tried, but no 12.0.4 for me.
Thanks

10. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Feb 28, 2013 1:37 PM (in response to Nancy O.)Oh. It appears I am running 12.0.3. That's the version number in the app file's Get Info properties. However, the "About Dreamweaver" splash panel -- the traditional place for checking versioning -- just shows "12.0".

11. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
Sudarshan Thiagarajan Feb 28, 2013 9:22 PM (in response to benwiggy)Yes, the major version number even within DW will only show 12.0.
12.0.3 is a sub-version release. Unless 12.1 is out, you wont see it anywhere within DW. One way to find out is the 'Build number' which is usually something like 5xxx or 6xxx (numeric).

12. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Mar 1, 2013 12:51 AM (in response to Sudarshan Thiagarajan)Well, that's not very helpful. The only place I've found to correlate build numbers with versions is in some Adobe Blog. The Updaters page link to above does contain the text "You can check your product version number on Windows by selecting the Help > About Dreamweaver, and on Mac by selecting Apple Menu > About Dreamweaver." (Admittedly, only for earlier versions, but it's pretty much the standard place to check a version number.)
Anyway, I think we're done here. Thanks one and all.

14. Re: Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?
benwiggy Mar 1, 2013 1:05 AM (in response to Sudarshan Thiagarajan)Yes-- but my point being that the build number alone is not very useful when trying to reconcile that to version numbers. If it said "12.0.3 Build 5861", then that would be ideal.
(BTW -- you're on build 5842, which suggests you're not up to date!)

This is one of my development laptops I'm on for the moment. We push updates via a common updater file - pending! Should be done this week.
