Link field in Properties bar "sticks"?

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. I've been trying to select some text in Design view that has a link; then copy the text of the link from the Link field in the Properties bar; then select another bit of text and paste the url into the link field. (Thus giving two bits of text the same link.)

However, the contents of the Link box seems to be "Sticking", and not relating to anything that I'm actually clicking on.

Who has gone screwy: me, or DW?

Well, I could just use a Text Editor!

I guess I'm asking whether anyone else has observed this problem, and if they know a method of snapping DW out of it. I'll try trashing prefs and caches.

I'm unable to replicate this issue. Have you checked for updates for DW? Also yes, clearing your cache may help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811

Of all the many updates I get from Adobe, I don't think there have been any for Dreamweaver. It's still 12.0.

Thanks for the cache info. I probably would have been less surgical and deleted everything in the User Library. That does seem to have improved matters.

Glad to know that. Yes, the major build is 12.0. But there is a sub-version 12.0.4 (if you're a creative cloud member).

Windows or Mac: Help > Updates to check for any available updates

Btw, are you on the Creative Cloud or are you using a 'perpetual' (standard) version?

I have an account for some Adobe Cloud services -- though at a strictly non-paid level. It's mostly just storage space, I think.
The Creative Suite updates are all handled by an Adobe Update Manager, and I'm automatically informed of anything that I can get.

I would rather stick pins in my eyes than subscribe to software, thanks!

Well, like I said try opening Adobe Update Manager or even from DW > Help > Update to check and download all available updates. That will help.

Oh. It appears I am running 12.0.3. That's the version number in the app file's Get Info properties. However, the "About Dreamweaver" splash panel -- the traditional place for checking versioning -- just shows "12.0".

Yes, the major version number even within DW will only show 12.0.

12.0.3 is a sub-version release. Unless 12.1 is out, you wont see it anywhere within DW. One way to find out is the 'Build number' which is usually something like 5xxx or 6xxx (numeric).

Well, that's not very helpful. The only place I've found to correlate build numbers with versions is in some Adobe Blog. The Updaters page link to above does contain the text "You can check your product version number on Windows by selecting the Help > About Dreamweaver, and on Mac by selecting Apple Menu > About Dreamweaver." (Admittedly, only for earlier versions, but it's pretty much the standard place to check a version number.)

Yes-- but my point being that the build number alone is not very useful when trying to reconcile that to version numbers. If it said "12.0.3 Build 5861", then that would be ideal.

(BTW -- you're on build 5842, which suggests you're not up to date!)

This is one of my development laptops I'm on for the moment. We push updates via a common updater file - pending! Should be done this week.
