So recently I've been using a old slow HDD for my cache and its been bottle necking me too much.
My question would be, what would give me more performance?
a 1 TB External Hard Drive using USB 3.0 (the whole TB dedicated to just cache)
OR a SSD 128GB ? These will be just dedicated to cache..
Thanks in advanced !
Assuming the SSD is connected internally, rather than over USB3, then it should be much faster than the USB3 drive. If the SSD is to be connected via USB3 then it's performance will be much the same as the 1TB drive, as the USB bus will be the bottleneck. A 1TB drive is probably a little excessive just for disk caching - I'd go for the SSD.
Alright ill go with a SSD thanks andrew!
