    Publishing for mac and pc

      will ticking both the projector and macintosh projector boxes in the publishing setting enable the movie to run on both mac and pc?

          In general, yes, with the proviso that you will have to unpack the
          compressed file generated for the Mac *on* a Mac before being able to
          run it. And that, depending on your usage of 3rd-party xtras you may
          need to edit your xtrainfo.txt file so that Director knows which named
          xtras to pack into the Mac projector - assuming you have copies of the
          split versions for either/both Mac environments

            Just a slight correction. It will not make a file that will work on
            both OSes. It will make 2 files. One will work on PC and the other will
            work on Mac. The PC version will have a name that ends with .exe and
            the Mac version will have a name that ends with .hqx. The .hqx file,
            when unpacked on a Mac, will reveal an executable file with the name
            ending .osx.
