DNG Converter 7.4RC - support for X-trans sensor?

    martinjconnolly

Hi, the ACR 7.4 download pages says it "includes a correction to the demosaic algorithms for Fujifilm cameras with the X-Trans sensor". Is that correction also included in the DNG converter 7.4?

      Thanks

The DNG converter simply creates a new wrapper for the raw image data.  The actual raw processing is done by Camera Raw or Lightroom.  So you would have to be using ACR 7.4 in order to see those changes in your images.  If you are converting to DNG for compatibility with an older version of Photoshop/ACR then you won't be able to realize those corrections in your images.

An exception to this would be for Linear DNGs that have already have been demosaicked, but still retain the raw property of absolute white-balance and camera calibration adjustments, right?

So the question becomes, if the latest DNG Converter 7.4 RC is used to make linear DNGs from the Fuji X-trams raw files then could they be edited with older versions of ACR and look ok?

And Lossy DNGs that are resampled from their original resolution (which requires that the file be a linear DNG).
