I just did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit and then updated to SP1. Installed Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 64-bit. I get the above error message after installing install_flashplayer11x32ax_gtbp_chrd_aih.exe
This is the version that the Abobe site auto-detects for me. I assume I should be using a version with '64' in the title but can't find an alternative download from Adobe.
I found a reference on the Microsoft IE 10 site that the 64-bit version switches back and forth between 32 & 64 bit. Could that be the issue in the auto-detect?
install_flashplayer11x32ax_gtbp_chrd_aih.exe is a download manager, which will download and install the appropriate 32-bit and/or 64-bit players. The download manager itself is a 32-bit app, that's why you see the '32' in its name.
Download and run the full installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header if there are errors from the download manager.
