Hello, in the other big spreadsheet application you can use a shortcut and the app will show you possible divisons (breaks?) for a specific word, e.g. right-eous-ness. Can I get that same proposal somewhere within InDesign (CS55)?
Thanks for any hint!
Select your word; then select "Edit" -> "Spelling" -> "Dictionary..". The Dictionary dialog pops up with your word; then click the "Hyphenate" button to see where InDesign would break the word.
Huh ... in this case ID's ideas differ from a more trustworthy resource such as Dictionary.com -- based on the Random House dictionary, that site also suggests "right-eous-ness".
Thanks, Jongware, that was helpful. As far as the quality/correctness of the ID-suggestions goes I oftentimes wonder. In the german language version I use you get some rather hilarious attempts at spelling. No idea how they made it into the dictionary...
