how to (un)hide a sign field

      Hi Experts,

I have a java application which I can open the pdf file (the pdf is an interactive form). I like to hide a sign field in a pdf form depending on a status of the document. Only if the status is X the field must be visible.

Do I have to add a document property? And how can I access the property in de xml? Can I add or change the property in my java application?

Or can I add a hidden field, set the field to status X  and depend the sign field visiblity on this field? Can I set this field via my java application?

      thanks in advance,

Acrobat forms are not XML forms. LiveCycle Designer forms are XML forms.

If we have an Acrobat form you could use an FDF file or XFDF file to open a PDF and populate a form field in that form. You could even use PDFtk to help with the task.

You can find more information on the Adobe Acrobat Developers Connection and PDFtk
