Newbee: Capturing a click on flex display to update a Rails partial on the screen

    sktib
      Hello Folks,

I have heard a lot about the power of Flex and am giving it a try. I have a web page where on one side I have a small flash window which plays some video. I can click on the window and capture click events that I can send to backend to perform an action. What I would like to do is use that click event to update a RoR partial on the same page.

A dumbed down example will be as follows. As the video is playing I click on video and a "Hello World" string displays on top of the page - outside of flash window. If I click it again I could change the string to something else.

I hope I am making sense here. If I can clarify this further please let me know.

      Look forward to your thoughts.

      TIA.
