I am getting a message saying: "The document "nameofdocument.psd" could not be opened. Photoshop cannot open files in the "Adobe Photoshop file" format.
I get this message:
1. When trying to open a .psd file from the hard drive
2. As an attachment
3. A linked InDesign file.
I CAN open the files when IN Photoshop from the file menu.
I'm running an iMac OS 10.7.5, 3ghz, 4gb
Any help would be appreciated.
Sounds like the OS has lost the list of what filetypes Photoshop can open.
If only PSD is a problem, you can change it directly: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/reset-file-associations-on-your-mac/
If it's many types, you need to clear the LaunchServices database: http://superuser.com/questions/20822/where-does-mac-os-x-store-file-association-informatio n
Filetype is still set to the default of Photoshop. Only .psd files seem to be affected.
