    HELP: Seems  impossible to change height x Width & bgcolor

    VishalT

      Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me out...

      I tried editing the .xml & .html files, but for some reason, nothing seems  to want to produce desired results

      Info about tag cloud:

      • This tag cloud was generated using the online tool available at tagcloud-generator.com
      • Contains 5 test word and Flash settings  for "FLY"  tag cloud with output size of 600 width & 600 height.
      • Default Background color is #FFFFFF.
      • Default Bordercolor is #FFFFFF.

      Problem / Issues

      1. There seems to be no way to change the background to transparent.
      2. I am trying to change the output size size from 600px (width) x 600px (height) to 100% x 100%, so that it would look alright in all browsers. However,  no matter how many times I change the width x height value in .html or .xml  file, it does not seem to want to accept it.

      If someone can please help in making above changes, it will be very much appreciated.

      Here is the flash tag  file with all the working code  that I downloaded from tagcloud generator: http://www.plasticsurgerytulsa.org/tag/flash-tagcloud.zip

      Thank you.

              change the width and height here, too.  :

              <script language="javascript">

                  if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) {

                      alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.");

                  } else {

                      AC_FL_RunContent(

                          'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#ve rsion=9,0,0,0',

                          'width', '600',

                          'height', '600',

                          'src', 'tagClouds',

                          'quality', 'high',

                          'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer',

                          'align', 'middle',

                          'play', 'true',

                          'loop', 'true',

                          'scale', 'showall',

                          'wmode', 'transparent',

                          'devicefont', 'false',

                          'id', 'tagClouds',

                          'bgcolor', '#ffffff',

                          'name', 'tagClouds',

                          'menu', 'true',

                          'allowFullScreen', 'false',

                          'allowScriptAccess','sameDomain',

                          'movie', 'tagClouds',

                          'salign', '',

                          'flashVars', 'xmlURL=tagClouds53b5923d61d6103ad5d7342b03cfe6c51362858605.xml'

                          ); //end AC code

                  }

              and, it doesn't look like there's any other html content on that page so the swf having a transparent background won't be noticable.

                Hi,

                Thanks, that does  seem to work.

                However,  it still seems to be causing problem when I use it as below:

                Usage: Flash tagcloud is the background of the site:

                So when I set height x width at 100% x 100% it shrinks.  However when I set the dimensions to 2000px x 2000px it does expand to 2000 x 2000.

                HTML + CSS I am using in above mentioned pages is: (HTML/CSS Credit: http://css.flepstudio.org/en/css-tutorials/flash-background.html )

                Basic html structure:

                <div id="container">
                <div id="background">
                           Add here the details to embed swf
                </div>
                <div id="content">

                           Add here the html content
                </div>
                </div>

                The basic css rules:

                #container{

                height: 100%;

                width: 100%;

                position: relative;

                }

                #background{

                z-index: 1;

                position: absolute;

                }

                #content{

                z-index: 2;

                position: relative;

                margin:auto

                }

                Note: Also,  after seeing the page, you will notice  that the page already has a image  background & hence, I was hoping to find a way to add opacity to flash bg color.

                  i don't see any swf showing at that first link.  that may be because you are missing a file:

                    Since I was trying to show the difference between the usage of 100 % x 100% Vs. 2000px x 2000px, I simply copied the index.html file and renamed it to pixel.html and change the value. So except for the height/width setting, both files are identcal & using the same AC_RunActiveContent.js, tagClouds.swf & tagClouds53b5923d61d6103ad5d7342b03cfe6c51362791575.xml file info/data.

                    Also all the files are in the same folder too.

                    However for  testing & verification purpose, I made a duplicate of the tagClouds53b5923d61d6103ad5d7342b03cfe6c51362791575.xml & renamed it to tagClouds.xml, but as you can see, the error still exists

                    current files in the  folder:

                    AC_RunActiveContent.js

                    flash53b5923d61d6103ad5d7342b03cfe6c5.html [Original html file that was  downloaded from tagcloud generator site. Only edit made is that of the height x width. And it is working at 100%]

                    index.html           [desired example of live page with flash background. Flash height x width is set to 100%]

                    pixel.html           [desired example of live page with flash background. Flash height x width is set to 2000px]

                    tagClouds.swf

                    tagClouds53b5923d61d6103ad5d7342b03cfe6c51362791575.xml

                    tagClouds.xml [based on your above post, I copied the above xml file and renamed it to tagClouds.xml]

                        There is the swf file at top left,  hum, I believe since the actual content is layered on the flash file, it may not be showing.

                        I just changed the z-index for .index.html to 3. So now you should be able to see the flash tag cloud (top left)

                          Hi Kglad,

                          I am able to find a way around hiding the scroll bar via css, however still if there was a way to make this work 100% height / width for all screen,  it would actually be ideal.

                          temp solution:

                          .container{
                          height: 100%;
                          width: 100%;
                          position: relative;
                          overflow: hidden;
                          margin: -2px;

                          }

                          By the way, thanks a lot for working with me on with this one, it's  because of you that I got to thinking about trying to find at least  this temp solution through css.

                          Please let me know your thoughts on how (if) this can be made to work with 100% and if there was any way to set opacity value to background color.

                            i see the swf.

                            there are some errors in the html. setting the width and height are probably all you need but your should fix the other two, as well.  it should be:

                            <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />

                            <param name="wmode" value="transparent">

                            <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />

                            <param name="movie" value="tagClouds.swf" />

                            <param name="quality" value="high" />

                            <PARAM NAME="SCALE" VALUE="exactfit"/>

                            <!-- there is not backgroundImage param -->

                            p.s.  if you have a legitimate complaint about that doc, you can file that complaint with the oklahoma medical board:  http://www.okmedicalboard.org/complaint

                              Will test out the html/flash edits and post results here.

                              About the doc

                              Thanks for the tip. Here are the places where  I intend to file the complain:

                              1) Oklahoma board of medicine (Already in talks with them)

                              2) HIPAA

                              3) Court Case

                              I have already retained an attorney & regardless how frustrated I may be with the surgeon, I think, it would be ideal to let the attorney take the drivers seat. In a way this case is pretty straight forward (though with lots of details),  however the primary purpose of the site is to make sure that the information can save someone else's life.

                                check with your attorney before you do anything INCLUDING publishing your website.

                                  I agree with you, & also do not want to take any steps (especially like publishing site, PR. etc.) without talking to my attorney.

                                  About the tag-cloud.

                                  Seems like using 100% x 100% in the flash code seems to have done the trick (also changed the css div to 100% x 100%).

                                  For tnansparancy, I simply edited css  properties & was able  to change the opacity of the flash div

                                  Thanks again, I very much appreciate your help.
