Working on my first project in Adobe Encore. It's a simple project for a movie screener DVD that has surround sound. I've imported my audio and video assets. My video was encoded in Adobe Media Encoder, however I encoded my audio to a Dolby Digital Professional 5.1 .ac3 file in Apple's compressor. Within Encore both files are listed as "Don't Transcode". However, when I burn and play my DVD it is NOT playing in surround sound. It's mixed everything into stereo. I can take the same files and place them in an Apple DVD Studio Pro project and they burn and play just fine. Am I missing a setting or something here? I don't understand where Encore is changing my surround to stereo.
When you burn the disk, does Encore give you a message that it's transcoding any assets?
How are you checking the burned disk?
Thanks for the response, Jim. It turned out it was a problem with Compressor not correctly seperating the different channels when it encoded the Dolby Surround. I've now solved that problem and successfully burned a surround sound DVD screener with Encore. To answer your questions for future reference, no it gave me no alerts and I was checking the disc on my home surround system. Thanks again!
