    AVCHD Audio is not playing/rendering

Hey guys! I have a bunch of AVCHD format videos that I'm trying to edit and render in After Effects, however I am encoutering a huge issue with the audio of these videos. When I play the videos on my computer using WMP, both the video and audio work perfecly with no errors. However, when I imported those same videos into AE, the audio could not be played or rendered, while the video remained untouched. In fact, I don't believe that AE recognized the audio at all! Even after renaming the file extension to .M2TS the problem continued to persist. Is there any other way to resolve this issue? Any advice would be really, really appreciated!
