We cannot help you if you don't give us information.
What version of ID, including the patch level (latest patch for CS6, for example is 8.0.1), and what OS and version? Do you get an error message of any type?
Have you tried trashing your preferences? See Replace Your Preferences
InDesign Version 8.01 runnung on OSX LION 10.7.5. ERROR MESSAGE: InDesign quitted unexpectedly. Yes I have tried trashing the preferences does not change anything.
After it crashes this crash report comes up http://pastebin.com/Se1V3yQL
John may know what's causing this one, but I'm afraid all I can say is it seems to be crashing in Apple code, not ID directly.
Can you tell me what you think the problem maybe?
As I said, I don't have a clue. I'll ping John for you.
The crashing thread is here is Thread 25 (you have to go way down), and it appears to be related to a 3rd party plugin called "MagPlus". I don't know anything about MagPlus, but my first step would be to disable it, either by moving it out of the plugins folder by hand, or with Extension Manager:
Thread 25 Crashed:

It looks like it might have something to do with Preferences, so I would also try trashing your preferences. See FAQ: How do I reset or "trash" preferences?.

OOPS. Missed that. But I think the prefs being referred are MagPlus prefs, not ID.
MagPlus is some sort of third-party DPS plugin, it seems, so I would say you need to talk to them.
Could be. I'd definitely start by removing MagPlus.
But it seems at least plausible to me that MagPlus stores its prefs
inside InDesign's prefs.
Worth a shot at any rate.
MagPlus is a competitor to DPS. First I've heard of their plugins causing a problem, though.
Thanks for your help. I deleted MagPlus from the plug-ins and now everything thing is working fine! Will get in contact with MagPlus and let them know about the issue.
