Thanks.

I looked at specification and actually they say SP3, but most of other programs work also with SP.

So, there's no way out? (I don't want to upgrade to SP3)

Is there an intermediate version between 1.7.2 and 2.0 which allows the use of JAW for vision impaired people, as far as you know?

System requirements  Windows

  • Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or later
  • Windows® XP SP 3 or Windows® 7 (32 or 64 bit running in 32-bit mode)
  • 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
  • 40MB of available hard-disk space

Even if you upgraded XP to SP3, you might well find that the move to ADE2.0 turned out to be a downgrade.

**************************************************************************

I  was interested in ADE 2.0 as it supports Jaws, as my wife has low vision

I found out the following, not yet installed:  digitaleditions1-8_p3_win_021612.zip

do you think it supports Jaw and it's compatile with XP SP2?

I've not been able to find serious information in Adobe site, you're always directed to ADE 2.0 !!

I understand 1.8.3 was effectively an alpha version of 2.0, and not all that different.

However, there could be differences in details both of OS and JAW support.

Is it improcticable for you to install XP3?

There don't seem to be many advantages of 2.0 over 1.7.2,

but support for screen readers does seem to be one important one.
