I have a cheap video camera to do school work with and am having issues importing to PP. All I get is audio. Reading the forum here it seems my codec is at fault.
What format is best to convert it to?
How do I do that? I have Adobe Media encoder. Hopefully I can use that?
What codec are you starting with?
Hopefully this has your answer. I thought my codec was h264...?
AVCHD, a sub-set of H.264, should Import just fine. What error message are you getting upon Import?
What version of Apple's QT Player do you have installed? The later ones should include one version of H.264.
I have QT 7.7.1
I'm not getting an error. The problem is that when I import the video files they import as Audio only.
I'll update QT Player and try again.
What is your import procedure?
What does the camera record to and what do you do with that....
You can use vlc to convert the file wrapper to .mp4, rather than .avi.
h.262 is supported in Premiere, however you'll need the.mp4 extension and not the .avi wrapper.
Vlc will let you convert the file without re-encoding. I don't know if it let you batch convert the files.
