Here's a fundamental animation issue. I have a cyclically expanding and contracting geometric shape projected over an unchanging background. The expansion occurs between two keyframes followed by contraction between two keyframes. The effect is smooth. No problem. The problem is that every time the cycle repeats the background flashes on and off. Not smooth at all. Anyone know how to maintain a constant, unflickering background while the animation cycles?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I've resolved the issue. When I posted the issue last night it was late and I gave up too early experimenting. This application is new to me, so even with good references, there's still experimenting required.
