Mylenium Mar 21, 2013 4:21 AM (in response to BlueFunk74)No, AI does not allow to create or modify fonts. You nee otehr tools for it, but of course can draw the contours in AI before importing them e.g. into Fontographer or FontLab.

MW Design Mar 21, 2013 5:34 AM (in response to BlueFunk74)To follow onto Mylenium's post...
With Fontlab, you can copy and paste from AI because Fontlab understands AI's clipboard format. Comes in as vector. Actually, you can go back and forth. To set up an artboard, copy a glyph out of Fontlab and paste in AI. Set your artboard size and guidelines. This will help to minimize any resizing in FL once you draw a glyph in AI and paste into FL.

Monika Gause Mar 21, 2013 12:20 PM (in response to BlueFunk74)If it's only one glyph per font you can use InDesign (if you happen to have it) and this script: http://www.indiscripts.com/post/2012/06/indyfont-build-opentype-fonts-from-within-indesign
