Here is a link for the update manager issues: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/problems-using-update-manager.html. You can always download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order. Sometimes, just return later as the update server may just be busy.
Can you post a screen shot of the error?
Which Acrobat version do you have installed now? What OS?
I'm having the same problem, upgrading from AcroX1 11.0.0 on -- latest problem upgrading to 11.0.4.
When I try to install it directly, I get an unspecified error. When I try to upgrade directly through Acrobat, I get the 1537 Error. Creative Cloud shows I'm installed with the current latest version -- I'm clearly not. And there seems to be no option in the eLearning Suite -- where this install comes from -- for upgrading it either.
I've attached screen shots for the error dialogs I get from Acrobat and the stand-alone Packager.
Any assistance I can get would be greatly appreciated.
I'm currently using Mac OSX 10.8.5, though I've had this problem since the first upgrade from my original install of Acrobat X1. If possible, please notify me through my Adobe ID and let me know what I can do to fix this situation.
Thank you for your help,
