Running Mac OSX 10.6.8, Brother 7820N printer/scanner that has worked until now with ImageKit (Scan from Device) scanning. Suddenly the scanner is no longer available in PS CS6's Scan from Device panel. I recently installed a Brother driver update, which may or may not have contributed to the situation. I would prefer to return to this scanning method if anyone knows how to accomplish it... I am unable to find such info on the Brother website, but of course don't expect this forum to handle problems related to that equipment. If anyone happens to know about this part of the issue, though, I'd appreciate any insight.
Many articles on Adobe (see http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/twain-plug-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html#id_51241) and elsewhere instruct on installing the TWAIN plug-in. I have installed the plug-in, yet my scanner still does not show up... in fact, no "from TWAIN..." appears in the File->Import-> menu. Is this plug-in really compatible with PS CS6 under OSX 10.6.8: "The TWAIN plug-in is available with the other optional plug-ins for Photoshop CS6: For Mac OS: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/photoshop/mac/13.x/Optional_Plug_Ins_Release.dmg"? If so, what instructions have I missed?
My office provides the Mac and the application, but not my home printer/scanner; it is not possible for me to purchase additional software or hardware to accommodate changes that render good equipment useless.
Thank you for your help!
