Flashplayer refuses to update

Hi all.  Flashplayer won't update on my laptop for some reason.  When I start the install, it doesn't progress at all... it's always at 0% and says "Metafile download failed."  I use Firefox, Windows 7, 32 bit.  And I'm completely at a loss as to what's going on with the update.  Any suggestions?
