Why has my Creative Cloud taken over Production Premium on a second computer?

    charleshull Community Member

I have Creative Cloud on my desktop computer, but Production Premium CS 6 on my main editing computer and my laptop (both on the same Production Premium license).  But the laptop popped up with a notice it was on Creative Cloud and that I needed to log in and license to proceed - which I did.  But I don't want that - I want to keep Production Premium on that computer.  Why did it switch over to Creative Cloud on my laptop, and how do I switch it back to Production Premium?

You should not purchase CCM on the same Adobe ID, that is why it was overtook. Best solution, transfer your CS6 PP to another Adobe ID, or deactivate, disconnect internet, do offline activation and as long as you run CCM on the same ID, do not connect this PC to the internet, casue the same happens again.

Thanks jgruzec.  This leads to other questions and issues:

            1.  Is this a normal problem when one has both Adobe purchased software and Adobe subscription software under the same Adobe ID?  Are others seeing it?  I have not seen this described before, and if it was I missed it when I subscribed to Creative Cloud.  I did use the same Adobe ID.

            2.  I don't have any way to deactivate Production Premium on the laptop because that computer thinks it is on a Creative Cloud license.  So I can't deactivate, reinstall and do offline re-activation.

            3.  I have not used my main editing computer with Production Premium for a while as I have been working in the field with the laptop.  Can I expect that when I start using it, it will come up the same issue?

            4.  I don't know how it would work with another Adobe ID, and how one might transfer licenses to a new account.  I expect this is talking with Adobe support and working through it, but is this something others have done so that Adobe knows the issue and will be able to solve it?

            5.  Is Adobe apt to fix this problem so that customers can have both purchased software and subscription software in their main account?

1.Yes, since CS6, online activation is mandatory, sadly the activation process doesn"t recognize if you have CCM or a box product. After you enter your Adobe ID, it checks for any running subscription first, then if couldn"t found any, asks for serial number.

2.After you launch any of PP CS6 app after a while, if internet connection is on, under help you should see deactivaiton button, if it is not present, then disconnect from internet remove cache.db from C:\program files(x86)\common files\adobe\adobe PCD\caches\ start any of CS6 program, it should ask to accept EULA, then follow the steps of offline activation.

              3.Probably yes.

4.Yes exactly, you should contact your Adobe support team and they should transfer your box product to another account.

5.Here I cannot help you you have to ask adobe.
