Hoping to get some pointers on downsampling some GoPro Hero 3 Black 2.5K 30P footage to a 1080P 24P timeline. When I drop the 2.5K footage onto the timeline, I answer No so I can keep my existing 1080P timeline sequence settings. From this point on, I'd like Premiere to downsample the footage to 1080P, without having it zoom into the center. Any way to change this behavior and have it it just resize the entire image to 1080P?
Why shoot 2.5 if you want 1080? ( Maybe the camera has no option but)
Otherwise. In Premiere - Option> "Scale to Frame Size". ( That should sort it)
or. Edit Native ...and Export to 1080p ( Retain original source and futires proofs the program)
2.5K to 1080 is easy. 30 fps to 24 fps...not so much. Stick with a 1080p/30 sequence, forget 24p.
Thanks, fellas! I think it was the Scale to Frame Size option that I was looking for.
To answer your question, I heard that if you filmed in 2.5K and scaled to 1080p, you'd end up with more detail in the final 1080p video than if you filmed in 1080p. Just from my cursory tests, it looks like that's the case.
