My computer is being fixed due to viruses.I have the old version on my computer. This will be erased when I have the computer reset to its original form. Do I need the original digital edition to open the books or will the 2.0 open all my old books

ADE2.0 should open your old books as long as you register the same Adobe ID on it as you used before.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0; so if it doesn't work correctly fairly easily you may find it easier to use v1.7.2 anyway.
