Is your item grouped? You may have a stroke assigned at the group level, but have the item selected at the path level.
The end result of this is a blue stroke, I clicked on contents to get the second screenshot.
Also try not to use shift eyedropper in illustrator, the color slections look right, but are far from accurate. That samples colors using the screen preview, and the end result might look ok, but usually black & CMY are traded off for example.
I'm afraid you actually misunderstood me. This is not a problem of one project but of the whole illustrator. Obviously, it's a bug.
As my example shows, you cannot (for example) change color of the text by picking color of the stroke which was possible in early and previous versions of CS. In this case, SHIFT picked the >exact< color, but applied it to the fill. Now it doesnt work in this case and cases i mentioned before. Therefore adobe stopped with this IMPORTANT feature or it's a bug.
I still have this issue. Is this bug going to be forever or is there a fix i don't get? Its REALLY frustrating when always when i want to take color of the gradient or TO the gradient, i have to SHIFT+PICK it and then manualy pull color levelers or Enter any of the values of color for Illustrator to take it.
You might not believe it, but listen. It's been bugged since LAST DECEMBER, and the fix's been released ONLY for mac version(and that was january).
Maybe they are busy dev'ing new CC system so have no time for win version fix? ha.
Thank you for fixing this in CC
