PSE 6 works fine in 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. However, it is crucial that you delete all the preferences when you do a major OS X upgrade.
Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Settings
Opera prefs (if you have it)
Repair permissions and try again.
Sorry, your last two posts are blank.
This has never happened before. From my iPhone: I did what you said and it still crashes, now even on opening an image. Also notice Recent Openings is empty each time I restart pse. Btw all my emails to you have embedded text, not attachments. Hope this works and pls persist with me I need your help. Don
From a Siri-us place.
Barbara, sending this from Yahoo Mail (not Thunderbird client). Since nothing
is attached, I
don't know what is happening unless Adobe site is stripping everything. Looks
here. I also just tried my iphone. Thanks for being patient but so frustrating
like I just
went dumb (not the not able to speak kind!). Don
The very last post was blank, but the two before came through. How did you get from your earlier version of OS X to 10.6? Did you install it over your existing OS or did you do a clean install and then move everything back?
Also, you are at 10.6.8, right?
Sorry, blank again.
This is from yahoo mail instead of my Thunderbird Mail client. I don't know why
does work with you but does to others. Anyway, here is what I tried to say:
Barbara, I hope you can see this email content. To answer your questions,
I didn't do a clean upgrade but simply put in the Snow Leopard disk that
I had purchased from Apple some time ago. Second, and apparently
important, though I thought I had upgraded from v6.0, I hadn't. So I just
did that...going to 10.6.8! Without deleting the PSE preferences and
repairing permissions, I tried using PSE on a dozen or so different images
and several formats. THEY ALL WORKED AND PSE DIDN'T CRASH!!!
Finally, in looking around the fora and web yesterday, I see that you are
involved in helping so many of us neophytes. May I thank you for
all your kind...and tolerant....assistance. I hope I am now restored and
can free you to extend your kindness to others. Appreciatively, Don
You're welcome, Don. I'm glad you were able to fix it.
