I am new to Illustrator, but know that I need to select the object I'd like to trace before using Image Trace. The problem is every time I used the selection tool, the entire picture is selected, and then traced.
I have looked everywhere online for a solution, can someone please help me? thanks!
Which version of Illustrator are you using ?
But then, in Illustrator you cannot "select" objects (people, trees, mushrooms for example) inside a raster art object which is seen as one flat object.
You may want to elaborate a bit in order to get a good answer.
I am using Illustrator CS6, the new Image Trace feature, trying to trace part of a JPEG - I am trying to isolate and trace a cake to trace it, but instead when I try to select it with the selection tool
everything is selected, the cake, the plate the background. From everything I have seen online about Image Trace, I thought you could trace raster objects and make them vector. Thanks!
Illie doesn’t know what a cake is. She only traces whole images. Which is what Kurt said.
