AE works with one .mts file but not another, says "File damaged or not supported"

I have two .mts files I am using that come out of the c100. I replaced one with After Effects comp from premiere and ran some noise reduction filters in AE, it worked fine. I then needed to do another but this time the clip was from the second mts clip and this one is giving me the "File damaged or not supported" error and I get the placeholder with the colored bars. I tried relinking the media by pointing AE right to it and that is the error I get. There is absolutely zero difference in the files except the name so i am totally at a loss why it will be OK with one file but not the other. I am running Windows, so if its suggested I just convert the mts files to something else, which format is best, AVI?

Does the file open and play in other software?

Well the files both work fine in Premiere, I'm not sure which other programs i could open up an .MTS in.

EDIT: I had a hunch to duplicate the original video file and import it back into Premiere and then replace the clip with the new copy and it imports into AE just fine. So apparently there was some issues happening in premiere when the original mts was imported.

Now is there any way I can easily just use the new clone to replace the old mts that is being used in 9 different sequences without having to manually click them and "replace with clip from bin"? Its no huge deal if I have to but just wondering if theres a simpler method.

EDIT 2: Well I realized that by replacing the clip didnt work as it was now out of sync with the other cam on the other video layer for some weird reason.

Anyway everything is solves as I just deleted any reference to the clip out fo the media cache folder and let it all reconform.
