Updated Elemets 9 with camera raw plug in 6.5 but cannot retrieve NEF files form Nikon D5200. Error message says files not supported.

that camera isn't supported until the 7.3 version

And Camera Raw 7.3 is only compatible with Photoshop Elements 11.

If you don't want to upgrade to Elements 11 then your other option is to convert the Raw NEF files to DNG with the free DNG converter. Then edit the DNG files in Elements.
