1 - convert to WAV
2 - be sure you do NOT start with a file that is protected (such as from itunes)

John is right. iTunes music has copy protection built into it that will block you from using it in a video project.
This is why most video users download their music from Amazon.com, which does not copy block their music.

Like others, I seldom work with ANY iTunes music, as it will almost always yield some sort of a problem.
There ARE some workarounds, but I find that SmartSound is so superior to using iTunes, that I seldom bother.
