I have CS5 and lately I have been getting this error message: "could not initialize photoshop because there is not enough ram." I have a new computer that is running Windows 8 and has 32 Gigabytes of ram. Whatever the problem actually is, it's not because I don't have enough ram! I can fix it for a while by reboting my computer. Anyone have any ideas about what I can do so this doesn't keep happening?
That message is generic. Can also mean not enough storage, page file space, scratch disk space or other things.
As Curt said, it's quite likely a permissions or quota problem with your harddrives and temporary disk space...
