designsbyamerianna Apr 13, 2013 5:52 PM (in response to kglad)I did step one however when my Adobe Exchange CS4 is open and i go to install the .mxp file (adobeexchange file) into the CS4 extension manager the adobeexchange file is not in my downloads. Why is my CS4 extension manager not reading the .mxp.
Well first i see that the Adobe exchange extension file is a zxp file not an mxp file that could be the reason however how do i fix this... I saw something about a classic adobe exchange? where is that and is that the file i need?

5. Re: Installing and using Adobe Exchange for CS 4
kglad Apr 13, 2013 9:55 PM (in response to designsbyamerianna)you do not have a cs4 extension:
An extension package (ZXP/MXP) file is compressed installation file containing the extension(s) to be downloaded and installed by the Adobe Extension Manager. Note ZXP format extension package can only be installed by Adobe Extension Manager CS5 and later.

16. Re: Installing and using Adobe Exchange for CS 4
fgregor May 29, 2013 2:19 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Hi designsbyamerianna,
Are you trying to install the Adobe Exchange Panel (downloaded from www.adobeexchange.com) in CS4?
If so, unfortunately this is not going to be possible for technical reasons; the Adobe Exchange panel requires CS6 or above to work correctly and is incompatible with CS4.
Please see the FAQs for more information:
https://www.adobeexchange.com/resources/6#faq33
Otherwise, can you please tell me where you found the ZXP that you are trying to install, and whether you used Extension Manager?
Best wishes,
Fraser
