I have asame problem!!!!!!
Well, I deleted the Flex Builder 2 folder, the Flex Builder 3 folder, and the documents/Flex Builder 2, documents/Flex builder 3 and the documents/Flex Builder Moxie folders that were in my documents folder, and reinstalled the latest version. This seems to have done the trick... for another 136 days, apparently...
I'm running Mac OS X 10.4. God knows if there's a solution for Windows
My beta 1 expired today, even with my Flex Builder 2 serial number. Does beta 2 expire today as well? If it does, I'm really SOL.
Sorry I should have specified more clearly. Yes, I downloaded and installed Flex 3 beta 2. That gave me a bunch of errors. Then, after deleting all flex things from my applications folder and all config files that they place in the documents folder (why do they do that? that folder's for documents, or so I thought...) I reinstalled it without problems. 60 more days. On entering my Flex 2 license it says I have 136 more days.
I just uninstalled beta 1 and installed beta 2. It fixed the expiration problem. But then I had to spend time converting my projects to how beta 2 likes them structured. Before I was using the FDS facet plugin by Peter Martin. Beta 2 now provides the same functionality of this plugin in creating a combined Flex/FDS web project now, but it does it its own way, with a different folder structure and such. A little painful but could be worse.
copy the folder (from flex 2)
into flex 3
this made my flex 3 become trial version not beta.
when i tried just entering serial numbers i always said invalid.
I tried everyone of the solutions posted and I still encounter flex not allowing me to try out flex 3 beta 2. I also used up my 121 days that beta 1 offered me by inserting my serial number. Anybody have any other solutions?
Are you on a Windows or Apple computer?
also try this.
delete all the files inside of configuration/com.adobe.flexbuilder (when eclipse is closed) open and re-enter serials using manage liecese
