DECREASED performance with a Quadro 5000?

    pseudo-numb Level 1

I'm building a Dell T7600 workstation for Premiere work.  After determining that the included Quadro K5000 is NOT listed as supported by Adobe for good reason, I purchased and installed a (listed) Quadro 5000.  Now, I'm doing some performance benchmarking and I found that performance DEGRADES when using GPU acceleration in Project Settings/General.

      OS - Win 7 Pro

      CPU - 1 @ Xeon 8 core

      RAM - 32 GB

      I/O - Integrated 3gb/s SATA via min-SAS

      HDD:

         C: - 2 TB Seagate 7200 - OS + CS5.5 Caching

         E: - 2 TB Seagate 7200 - Source files

        F: - 2 TB Seagate 7200 - Preview files

        G: - 2 TB Seagate 7200 - Export files

RAM allocated to Adobe - 16GB

      Rendering work area before export

      Little or few effects

Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 16 bit - Mono

Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Mono

      Total Duration: 03:29:38:14

      File Size: 133.8 MB

Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - compressed - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

      Total Duration: 01:37:32:38160

      Export -

H.264 / Vimeo HD / 44.1, High Quality, AAC, Stereo

1 minute of source export benchmarking:

Set Mercury Playback to NO-GPU/Delete Render Files/Render Entire Work Area/Export = 32 seconds

Set Mercury Playback to GPU/Delete Render Files/Render Entire Work Area/Export = 113 seconds

I also noted that, with BIOS hyperthreading ON, GPU=On results in the 8 hyperthreads having no activity.
