Problem installing Flash Player 11, latest version

For days now, I have been attempting to install the latest Flash Player (due to consistent warnings that my installed FP is "vulnerable").  I have disabled Firewall; uninstalled existing FP; and still the installation stops at 7% - pause - jumps to 47%, and advises "Timed out" - installation failed!  Can someone help, please?  (I have the required technical capabilities; OS is Windows Vista, 32-bit; browser is Firefox).  Thank you.

Many thanks for the prompt help! As it happened,

I tried installing again first thing this morning,

before I opened my mail - and succeeded (being a

total computer dummy, I wouldn't even begin to

know why - but, then, there is that useful old

phrase, "ours is not to wonder why"....).
