I have selected format device by mistake and lost all my books

I have pressed format memory on my reader and lost all content.  Now it wont let me copy books to reader - I get error message CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - No permission to copy the book

What do I do?

You probably got rid of authentification as well.

With the reader plugged into ADE, first hit ctrl-shift-E (cmd-shift-D if ADE is on a Mac) to remove any residual authorization.  (possibly not needed, just in case)

Restart ADE.

Authorize the ereader again with you original AdobeID.  It may ask automatically, or you many need to use menu/Library/Authorize Device..
