Media Pending wont go away on Premier PRo 6.02 on Mac.

      I have  Mac Pro 2 x 2.4 G 6-Core Intel 24GB Memory. 3 hard drives online - 2 SSD and one regular.  OSX 10.8.3.

I have installed Premierr Pro 6.02 (Creative Cloud) and updated everything.

I created a new project and added two small 1 minute files.  They were originally MPEG2 files.  I couldnt import them into premier or Media Encoder so opened in Quicktime and exported as MOV.

I get "Media Pending" issue that wont go away.

The files added are on the system and program install disk SSD 1.

Scratch disk for everything is SSD 2.

I tried using Media Encoder and got error:

      - Encoding Time: 00:00:00

      04/21/2013 09:10:59 AM : Encoding Failed

      Export Error

      Error compiling movie.

      Unknown error.

      File Properties:

      Greg Race2.mov

      704 x 480

      00:01:18:27, 29.97 fps

      48000 Hz - Unknown - Stereo

      Quicktime plays the files fine.

If I export from Quicktime to iMovie and then import the Quicktime shared iMovie clips into PRemier they seem to work fine.

      TWO Questions:

      1. Why cant I open or encode the original MPEG 2 file?
      2. Why do I get media pending issue on quicktime exported files but not the iMovie share files.
