I have Creative Cloud and I am using Indesign to print mailings that have around 1,500 pages. Each page has 4 postcards that are imported PDFs and each has personalized data on it. When I try to print more than about 40 pages it will either give me an out of memory error message or sometimes a message saying that the print engine didn't produce any results, or something along those lines. My machine has 32GB of RAM and is running Windows 7 64-bith.
Is there any advice on how to prevent this from happening? Sending 40 pages at a time is tedious and annoying.
Are you printing direct from ID? Try exporting the file to PDF and print from Acrobat or Reader.
I am printing directly from ID. I will try printing out of Acrobat again. I did that before, but that also ran into an error, though I can't remember what it was. I know ID seemed to give me a little better quality for some reason when flattening.
Don't flatten the PDF during export. Let Acrobat do that at print time.
