Background noise in the recordings

I am using captivate 3, rocketfish usb microphone. I had been recording fine now all of sudden i am getting a noticable level of background noise in my recordings...i have adjusted my mic level but i can't seem to get rid of it?? Any ideas? It is really holding up my project....

If it was good and now is not, it seems to me that something might have changed the properties of the recording volume for the selected microphone. You might want to check in the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Voice (tab) to see if turning down the voice recording volume will help.

I know you said you had turned down your mic level, but you didn't say where, or on what device, so it might be worth a look ... just a thought.
