How do i get the correct version of flash player?

I keep getting messages saying that I need an updated version. Weird. I do all my updates. I checked your site and it says I have the latest version. So I went and looked under control panel. I found Flash Player and opened it up. I selected the advanced tab and the plug-in version that that gave me was different! According to you/adobe I have version: 11.7.700.169 but according to what I found under the Advanced tab in my flash player I have version: 11.6.602.180. I have Windows 8 so I can't just uninstall/install. So what do I do?

What browser?  If IE10, use Windows Update to update Flash Player to the latest version.
