I created an interactive PDF form in Indesign CS6. I am fine opening it with 'preview' for mac, and also with Adobe Acrobat Pro, but when someone else it opens on a windows computer with adobe reader, it says that you cannot save the filled in form. You can only fill in the form and print it, but not save the given answers on, for example, your desktop. Anybody know how to fix it? The form is a sort of questionaire that's used by kids on elementary schools.
Thanks in advance!
The person on the PC doens't have Adobe Acrobat, they have Adobe Reader (the free version). If they're using Reader earlier than Adobe Reader XI, they can't save a PDF unless you've "Reader Enabled" it.
If you have Acrobat Pro XI, make a copy of the file (because you'll disable editing on the only copy), and choose File > Save As Other > Reader Enabled PDF > Enable More Tools. The command is in a similar location in Acrobat Pro X. It's in earlier versions of Acrobat Pro but I think under the Advanced menu.
