Yesterday, Adobe experienced a service disruption to the Activation Service (adeactivate.adobe.com). This is the service that is used when first activating Adobe Digital Editions or other eBook reading device. There was no loss of data, and service has been fully restored. The disruption took place starting just after 4:00pm PDT (2300 GMT), and lasted under 80 minutes. During this time, users would have been unable to activate new installations of Adobe Digital Editions. Book purchases and viewing would continue uninterrupted.
The activation server has been fully restored. Adobe apologizes for the inconvenience that this disruption may have caused.
