What sort of objects? Are they anchored in the text or free-floating? Which version of InDesign? have you updated to the latest patch?
They are just free floating objects. It happens with objects that are
images, text boxes, pretty much any type of object. It looks like they just
move over like a half inch. I have tried locking the objects, and that does
seem to work, but I move things around so often that it's a huge hassle to
have to go back and unlock them all before I can move them on the page.
I am using CS5, and I have updated to the latest patch.
Does it happen in just this one file, all older files, new files or any file at random? Is Layout Adjustment active? Are the objects snapped to guides?
It happens in any file at random, or any object at random. I do not think
the objects are snapped to any guides. I am not sure what Layout Adjustment
Try sending one of these files through .idml and see if it makes a difference. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526991 You may also want to try replacing the preferences. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990 If you don't know what layout adjustment is, it's not likely that you've turned it on, and it probably wouldn't do this anyway except to move objects snapped to guides on master pages that have different left/right layouts.
