Create Outlines is Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+O and there’s no way out of it except Cmd/Ctrl+Z or Revert.
Alt+Cmd/Ctrl+Y is Pixel Preview.
Preview to Outline view (and back) is Cmd/Ctrl+Y.
I hadnt saved the document yet and thats what i did and it went back to normal format.. btw i have a windows computer abd its illustrator CS5.
In Illiespeak, Create Outlines means converting type to vector paths.
Not your problem, I think.
As far as I can see you are talking about Outline view.
It is sometimes very useful to be able to work in Outline view when dealing with complex artwork. Easy to find paths and no time wasted waiting for the preview to re-draw itself.
Toggling between Preview and Outline with Ctrl+Y should be part of your day-to-day work routine. To my way of thinking it’s the normal way of working with Illie.
This totally saved my ***! I am on a Mac and Comand-Alt-Y WORKED!!! Thank you! If I knew you, I could honestly kiss ya! ha! phew! That was terrible!
