Converting PPT Show to PDF - Incorrect Timings

I have slide shows in PPT 2010 with narration over the slides as the animations move into them. When I use Presenter and publish to my PC the timings are all OK. When I publish to a PDF however the timings are completely wrong. The slides go through really quickly and do not pause after animations or with narration. I have about 10 lessons to convert so I really don't want to re-record them all if I can help it.  I am not sure what Presenter I have as it is on another machine from work.
