I'm still in the new user stages of using InDesign. I have created many ads before but the templates were always already set for me. I need to change the bleed and trim for a new ad, using the magazine specifications. This is what they gave me and I'm just a little confused on how to set them up. I'm not sure if I start with the standard 8.5x11 page.
Full Page: 7.125" x 10.125"
Bleed: 8.375" x 11.125"
Trim: 8.125" x 10.875"
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
That's a weird spec, but I would interpret it to mean set the page size to 8.125 x 10.875, and add .125 bleed on all four sides. Set the top and bottom margins to .375 and the left and right to .5 and use those guides as the "safe zone." An alternate interpretation might be that the 7.125 x 10.125 size is what you would use for an add that is not meant to bleed. You should call them and ask for clarification.
Thank you for the help! I did clarify with them that the page size is 8.125 x 10.875 with the .125 bleeds.
