I have used CS5 and CS6 both installed on same computer for photos with a Epson R3000. recently encountered problem where R3000 says that the paper does not match the ink and change black inks. But profile is correct PK profile and PK ink selected.
Contacted epson and reloaded print driver and no change. Recontacted epson and they suggested trying the iPhoto printing available on computer which does not use icc profiles. That worked and the printer prints all colors fine, but need to resolve the recognition of proper icc profile and proper ink so I can print through CS6. Epson suggest I might have to delete and reinstall Photoshop CS5 and CS6. Any help from some one with similar problem would be appreciated.
You're describing a bug in the printer driver, not something that Photoshop has control over.
If this were a printer driver bug, why would this not be solved by deleting the printer trashing the folder, running disk repair permissions and then downloading a new printer driver from the Apple software site? All of which were done with no change in the error status.
I don't know - I don't have the printer driver code to debug.
But Photoshop doesn't really know about the inks or paper type - that's up to the printer driver.
